Tuesday morning, nothing. Every cat, every lion, every hump-backed whale just vanished. I think they had a better offer. They&#8217;ve gone somewhere else, all of them, and they didn&#8217;t even say goodbye.<\/p>\n<p>I think a giraffe left a note.<\/p>\n<p>But I can&#8217;t reach it.<\/p>\n<p>I miss the animals. I was never a big animal guy, I knew people who had pets but I didn&#8217;t think of that for me. Wasn&#8217;t interested. And now I can&#8217;t. I won&#8217;t ever hear purring. I won&#8217;t see flying fish. Won&#8217;t ever eat bacon sandwiches.<\/p>\n<p>I miss the animals. I&#8217;m going to climb this tree and hope the giraffe&#8217;s note tells me how to follow them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday night, animals. Tuesday morning, nothing.
